What do you tell yourself about everything that goes on in your life? Do you think you are a serial failure and that there is no point in starting a dietary and exercise regime? If you think so, guess what, it will be so. Whatever is true about you in your mind, you will live, each and every day. Without exceptions, your beliefs become your reality. Do you get fired up for 3 days, jump out of bed, enthusiastically commence your diet and exercise program and then start to tell yourself you are a lost cause and lose all your excitement? Do you see your efforts biting the dust over and over again? If you tell yourself you are a failure, your outcome will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
These messages powerfully create your emotional state. These emotional states dictate whether you have your life and eating under or out of control. What are you telling yourself about your appearance, weight, discipline, self-control, health and general self-worth? Take a pen and paper and write down the real-time running commentary in your head.
