Weight Management Journey in Real Time (part 2)
Aug 13th, 2009 by Giselle
Controlling and maintaining our mental state is a big part of the weight management journey. Your mental state is largely affected by the self talk or internal dialogue going on within you. Since the first video two weeks ago, Jemima has been through a few mental battles. Find out what has been happening and her plan of attack.
Thoughts energise your actions and prime you for success or failure. On this note, I am not talking about filling your mind with lies, delusions and opinions. Quite on the contrary, I am referring to holding self-affirming thoughts that are rooted in reality, balanced and positive. Create a vision that moves and inspires you. Not distorted. This mind-body connection is powerful. Use it well and maximise your results.
And here is a 1-minute sample from her mind movie, which she has kindly agreed to share with all of us.
Note – a mind movie is simply a means of helping you to visualise your goals with crystal clarity, acting as a constant reminder of what we are living for. If you believe in the law of attraction (“The Secret”), then you can also see some additional, powerful benefits, in that this kind of tool would help in attracting what you desire from the universe. Jemima’s Mind Movie was done using PowerPoint. We dressed it up a bit, converting it to video, because filming a computer screen running PowerPoint does not come out particularly well.
If you don’t like the idea of PowerPoint or find it a bit too lame, check out the original Mind Movie Maker software here (they do provide some freebies, too):

Jemima, you rock! I really admire your courage and determination to go for what you want in your life. You are so clear and articulate in your videos, and I believe being clear about what you want and expressing it will see you to success. I wish you all the best
Angela
Hi Angela,
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! It has taken a good while to work out what it is that I really do want, and to realize that it is possible. Everyone is entitled to what they want, believing that you are worthy is sometimes a difficult task. I wish you well in your journey, feel free to update me if you like!
Jemima
Hi Jemima,
I agree with Angela! I love your videos! Here is someone real who is actually going for it. Exciting stuff, and whatever happens from here, I believe you are already a winner.
Steph
Hi Steph,
Your comment couldn’t have come at a better time. I have really come unstuck since the last video and I am trying to pull myself back into line before it gets out of hand! Stay tuned!!!
Jemima
Dear Jemima,
All journeys are frought with challenges – as you say full of extreme highs and lows. Your journey in real time is quite inspirational. I know you are probably facing many self doubts and sometimes think you’re crazy to do this, but keep going. Thanks for doing this. Many of us get wake-up calls – I got one recently – and seeing you do this is helping me remember that we are not alone in our journey. You are fortunate indeed to have Giselle on your side. I wish you well and thank you for a glimpse of your mind movie.
Cheers
Raph
Hi Raph,
I am so glad to be of inspiration to you. I am definitely a real person facing very real challenges and seem to come off this wagon more often than I would like! Giselle is my guiding light, helping me overcome self doubt and keep on pushing through. Too many times I have lost this battle and that is why my weight is where it is today. To be honest, I am still working on the psychology of my weight, trying to work through things like sneaking food, listening to my body cues, adjusting negative self talk and the like. It is not easy, and I am really glad people like you take the time to comment so like you, I realize that I am not alone.
